“We cannot change, we cannot move away from what we are, until we thoroughly accept what we are. Then change seems to come about almost unnoticed.” – Carl R. Rogers, On Becoming a Person
Deep inside we all yearn to feel content with our bodies and and with our lives. However, for many of us that contentment is absent and we are in a perpetual state of desiring something other than what is. Much of our time is spent longing for another reality for ourselves, if not bashing ourselves and our current reality.
What if I told you that the only way to live a life of contentment (and also transform in a manner we'd most like) is, paradoxically, to accept ourselves just as we are? We must be able to be grateful for what we are and what we have moment to moment because life isn't in some end goal, its in the whole process. The more we can compassionately and lovingly care for ourselves, the more vitality that will be expressed and experienced in our lives and the more capable we may become in reaching further.
You are worthy, you are capable, and YOU ARE ENOUGH!
